Canadian Women at the Chess Olympiad: Round 10

I am posting this after the event has finished, because I spent the weekend travelling, but hey, better late than never! And the team finished so strongly that it would be a true shame to abandon reporting on them now. In fact, Saturday may have their best overall performance of the Olympiad, a 4-0 shutout of Colombia. Canada was the favourite in this match, but Maili-Jade, Yunshan, Bich Ngoc, and Oksana all took home full points, and certainly we weren’t favoured to win by such a margin!

Current record: 6-1-3 (24.5/36), 25th. Next opponent: Lithuania.

Today the Open team beat Colombia’s neighbour, Venezuela, 2.5-1.5, behind wins from Shiyam and Razvan.
